GLP-1 injection site rotation
Most injectable GLP-1 medications are taken in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotating sites helps reduce irritation from using the same spot repeatedly. Your clinician or pharmacist should show you the approved sites for your specific pen.
A simple rotation habit
- Use the sites your prescriber approved for your medication.
- Move to a different area each week instead of the exact same spot.
- Note left vs right and roughly where on the abdomen or thigh you injected.
- Skip bruised, tender, or scarred areas until they settle.
Why logging sites helps
Weekly shots are easy to lose track of mentally. A short site note next to each dose makes rotation automatic instead of a guess. Meto keeps injection details with your dose schedule and side-effect check-ins.
